Alfalfa varieties react differently to wheel traffic. Some can handle it and many don't. It's a bred-in ability that can be measured and rated. In six management trials with abusive traffic, PGI 215 Alfalfa demonstrated a 2.0% advantage over the mean average yield of 23 elite commercial and experimental alfalfas. The average yield advantage was 16.4% versus the lowest yielding variety in each of the six trials.
